John Feins is an American poet, musician, and award winning communications strategist & craftsman.
He was born in New York City with ancestors from The Lewis and Clark Expedition and also through Ellis Island from Kyiv Ukraine. Feins has worked all throughout the United States in a hospital operating room, on a farm, for federal, state & municipal governments, and from startup to blue chip corporations in film and entertainment, publishing, music, comedy, visual arts, high technology, advanced manufacturing, non-profit, social reform, local and national politics, and recently a Ukraine wartime startup to provide innovative, long-term support for orphans.
Regardless of industry, budget, structure or macroeconomic climate, John always doubles, triples and even octuples performance measurements within a year or less—whether leading a team or by himself. This success has been especially noteworthy in several extremely challenging turnaround missions.
Feins identifies an organization or individual’s unique narrative, hones singularly compelling communications, places feature coverage in scores of top outlets across the international media spectrum, exponentiates web and social media conversion rates, wins votes and amasses awards, and wields an uncanny tendency to foresee future trends and developments. Clients cite his rapid capacity to render even the most complex and dense information into simple, actionable stories that garner high response rates to drive conversions and other strategic goals across all platforms and channels.
As one CEO summarized, “John knows how to get people to do things.”
Feins has always taken positions on the front lines of creative rights and attainment. He has worked and associated with a deep range of legendary artists including William S. Burroughs, Harry Smith, Allen Ginsberg—for whom he was executive assistant—Diane di Prima, Harold Norse—for whom he was assistant—Michael McClure, Gregory Corso, Peter Lamborn Wilson, Andre de Toth, Carol Berge, Robert Evans, Aaron Spelling, Harry Dean Stanton, Hunter S. Thompson, The Grateful Dead, The Doors, The Band, Johnny Cash, Leon Russell, Mel Torme’ and hundreds more.
He is a tenacious and loyal member of boards of directors, advisory boards, national and international organizations, and was a Javier Gonzales mayoral appointee on multiple City of Santa Fe Economic Development Committees. Feins is a passionate outdoorsman who volunteers tirelessly for non-profit, economic development, animal and planetary survival causes, and he has won numerous awards and accolades including New Mexico Tourism Professional Of The Year, top honor in the state’s #1 industry.
He will publish a new book this year.
