Here is a mix of photos from just before the storms, to during a break in the storms where Viento was soaked and motionless, to some today after Emi sat on the baby and helped bring it out of a seriously extended torpor state–a near death state by our definition–and one for which there was nowhere near the proper nutritional setup. These are legend beings. That storm was unreal, the tree branches were in whole other positions even after the rain, and this little bird built a nest with her beak over several days that withstood months of the driest, merciless heat and then a sudden battering of floodwaters for hours.
Had a leak in my roof repaired at the end of May, and the very exact same spot by the skylight was leaking yesterday as it had been. Going to refer my roofer to Emily.
