Communication Is Everything

Even in the best of times, organizations large and small constrain their success externally and internally through failures of communication. One mistake is to think that mere comprehension is enough. Sure, sometimes comprehension gets the job done, but not nearly as often as you might think.

To motivate employees to take their game to the highest performance levels and to motivate existing let alone prospective customers to take action let alone expend money, requires far, far more than comprehension.

Now, in a period of unprecedented economic crisis, the challenge is more steep and intense than ever. That’s why I will debut this talk this Wednesday at The Santa Fe Business Incubator:

Communication Is Everything
Secrets of The Special Sauce of Success

For any organization of two or more people, from a multinational conglomerate to a marriage, everything hinges on good communication. With style, clarity, and precision, anything is possible. Without them, inefficiency and failure loom by the hour.

Entrepreneurs spend all their time to bring a dream to life—a product or service so new and unique that it requires a full court press of essentials every day and night. Far too often, this means communications are treated as a back-office competency, something that if “good enough” gets presented to the public and other vital constituencies.

This is a mistake, with often ruinous results. Good enough is never good enough. At the least, your communications have to equal the excellence of your product and service. Yet how do you achieve this if you can’t find or afford a true wizard on your team?

As with everything, mastery is in the details, but this presentation offers the architecture of a powerful communications vision—including first principles and best practices to get you started—with insights into the current environment and key next steps.
