Rise & Shine

Good Morning!

There’s nothing like greeting a new day in a good and grateful way.

That’s more true than ever nowadays.

As a grand proponent of one of the finest of fine arts, athletics, I’ve long paid careful and detailed attention to what makes winners win. This has led me to have the house pay for all my Las Vegas travel and luxury expenses the past two plus decades and a glorious win in my Santa Fe Syndicate Fantasy Football League last year.

The key to last year’s victory was assessing which team had the most powerhouse Defense especially as compared to strength of schedule. For 2019 this was The New England Patriots going away. So while everyone was still drafting flash and sizzle running backs, wides and tight ends in the middle rounds, reaching for sleepers, I seized on the New England D before any other player had selected any defense and enjoyed an outpouring of points that often dominated even many quarterback totals. I went undefeated into midseason and survived the bye weeks and inevitable crushing injuries to emerge last man standing and cash that check.

Any student of the sporting arts knows that Defense Wins Championships. The best way to make your scores count is to keep the other bastard from scoring in the first place. Done well you demoralize them and make them doubt they can keep up let alone come back.

Defense is the rising tide that lifts all boat parades.

So this is my battle plan to the Covid-19 corona virus. Defense in this case, however, is not pathetic porous cloth masks and the ridiculous six foot distancing that is not nearly enough. How often have you smelled someone’s cigarette smoke from ten or twenty years away? How long does the smell linger in the air? Think those even smaller viral breath particles adhere to some different physics?

The survival game on earth has always been the immune system, God’s own defense. Talk about winning your Fantasy League.

So I’ve been going gangbusters with proper exercise, stretching, massage, sleep and nutrition. Cutting out even seed oils and those second and third tier no-no’s, with of course the occasional indulgence where applicable. I’ve also made to sure to do lots of everything I enjoy that hasn’t been closed down by the government.

My good mornings begin with a jigger of raw aloe juice, a teaspoon of local organic bee pollen, a small handful of sun chlorella tablets, a milliliter of special immuno-boosting mushroom tincture, four drops of bespoke flower essence mixture, a couple jiggers of fresh-squeezed orange juice, and a traditionally bamboo-whisked cup of ceremonial-grade matcha.

That’s just the opening act. The rest of the day includes all sort of other vitamin, mineral, supplement and foodstuffs—including of course the proverbial apple a day—but mornings are my favorite. This delicious and curiously complimentary combination just loads life force into my firewall and on a good day staves off the immediate and innate craving for a chile and cheese-smothered breakfast burrito.

You do want to take steps to mitigate exposure to any virus in the first place, but they have evolved to be sneaky and no one has ever eradicated let alone cured a corona virus. We might as well be trying to vaccinate the common cold. Regardless of marginal gains, the noxious code will still be here and still hacking souls. So ensure your immune system is ready, willing and more than capable to give a Samurai sword’s coup de grace to nature’s perfected microscopic ninja assassin.
